The rule says that it is a fault for a backrow player to make an attack hit from in front of the 3m line if the BALL is entirely higher than the height of the net at the moment of the hit.
Backcourt exchange drill. There are different variations in this 3 v. 3 back-court drill. One of the good ones restricts each 3-player team to just two contacts. As Oregon State associate head coach Mark Barnard explains, this drill requires the diggers to control the ball in a way that gives the hitter a chance to get a good swing.

Players need to serve in the rotational order that they started in for the whole game, even as they rotate with each sideout. If players get the serving order mixed up, the referee will call a rotational violation, which means the team loses a point, and the other team gets the serve. There’s also a positional out of rotation violation. This one’s a little more complicated – but stay with me, it’ll make sense, I promise.
